How To Automatically Export Evernote To PDF For Real Estate Agents

Why do real estate agents use PDF?

PDF is one of the most commonly-used document formats for real estate agents. For an electronic document to be considered legally-binding in a court, it must be created in a file format that cannot be altered without leaving an electronic footprint. It's also very portable and user-friendly. It can quickly be shared with others, printed, and edited without any major hassle.

PDF can be created as a "read only" document that cannot be edited in any way without leaving an electronic footprint. PDF meets all legal requirements in a court of law. It also has high compression, and requires no expensive software to view, as the software is free.

Document security is always a concern to real estate agents, and PDF document security meets all legal security requirements by requiring a password at the document level. Then the document can be freely shared without fear of unauthorized viewing. Of course you should always create a strong password.

Why do real estate agents use Evernote?

Evernote is one of the top choices for real estate professionals, and many use it as part of their everyday tasks. Evernote allows real estate agents to become more organized, and helps them keep up with scheduling, appointments, meetings and much more. It also allows them to take notes during meetings, phone calls, video calls or even while driving (using voice dictation). Evernote is useful for taking quick snapshots, and it uses your mobile device's camera to quickly snap a photo, tag it and save it. And Evernote even allows you to search for text in photos, a very useful feature.

One feature where Evernote is currently lacking is the ability to export your Evernote notes to PDF files. Evernote's security is good, but when you share a note, you put the document's contents at risk. With PDF, the encryption is strong, and the documents are secured from unauthorized access. In the next chapter, we will take a look at the top 3 choices that real estate agents currently have to export Evernote notes to PDF, and how you can have ALL of your Evernote notes automatically exported to PDF without any hassle at all.

Top 3 Evernote to PDF choices

Print to PDF

This feature allows you to manually print each individual file to a PDF document. This means that each time you wish to print a file to PDF, you must open the individual document, open printer settings, change the printer you wish to use from your default printer to an option titled “Save to PDF," browse to a folder to save the PDF document in, and then finally click Print. Then to resume normal printing from your printer, you have to change your default printer back to your normal printer. This can be very time-consuming and inefficient when dealing with a large number of documents—hundreds or even thousands of documents could take a very long time to convert.

Adobe PDF

This is even more trouble than the method listed above as it consists of copying and pasting Evernote notes to a new PDF in Adobe Acrobat. You can also have Adobe export Microsoft Word to PDF, but again, you must manually export your Evernote notes to Word format, then use Acrobat to export the file into PDF format. Too much trouble!

CloudHQ automatically converts Evernote notes to PDF files through replication, and then stores the PDF files in a separate cloud storage account such as Dropbox, Box, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc. It's so simple, all you do is set it and forget it. CloudHQ runs in the background (in the cloud, you don't even have to be online) and remains completely invisible to the user so that when you are working, you will not be interrupted.

Here's a quick example of how it works:

As a real estate agent, you use Evernote in your daily tasks. You also use Google Drive as your brokerage cloud storage for documents, photos and other files. But you need to transform your Evernote notes to PDF files. So you install cloudHQ and set up a sync pair between Evernote and Google Drive. During the process, you will be asked which formats you want your files exported in (see photo below). You need to check PDF.
And that's it! Now every time a note is added to or created in Evernote, a copy of that note is automatically saved as a PDF in Google Drive. If you revise the note in Evernote, the changes are automatically and instantly updated to the PDF. This is currently the best and the easiest way to convert notes from Evernote to PDF. Even if you have thousands of notes, they can be automatically converted from Evernote to PDF while you work on other tasks! It really is that simple. Check out the free fully-functional 15-day trial that cloudHQ is currently offering to see how much more efficient it is to use cloudHQ to export all your Evernote notes to PDF.
